What's new?

I've been neglecting this blog lately, I know. We've been busy with ... life. School, therapy, ballet, gymnastics, awana, church, homework, more homework...then repeat. You get the idea.

Jayden has been doing great. He is now eating a lot more with his feet or with his mouth, depending on the food or his mood. In September, he spent 2 nights in the hospital due to severe asthma. Now he is on a preventative inhaler and doing a lot better, thankfully.

Josiah has been enjoying going to speech school once a week and loves riding the bus. He also loves making Jayden scream, which he does a lot.

Olivia's been going to gymnastics, which seems to be the perfect activity for her. She is quite the energetic monkey girl. She got hearing aids this fall and is enjoying being able to hear now.

Joel and Hannah were in their annual Nutcracker performance a couple weeks ago. Joel played the part of Fritz' friend and clown. Hannah loved having ringlets when she was Clara's friend, and also got to play the part of a clown.

Lovin' Fall

Having too much fun this Fall to take time to post pictures. Here's an overview of what we've been up to the past few weeks.

Last days of summer

Yesterday, we tried to squeeze out the last few drops of summer. We've been enjoying above average temperatures and they could end any day, with snow always looming as early as October here.

Hannah had her first soccer game. This is her last year that she gets to play with boys, and she still can keep them on their toes.

Then we drove up for a day trip to a mountain lake, that is supposedly now the clearest lake in North America. Pretty cool to live so close to so much beauty, and was fun to spend the day playing with cousins and Grandma and Papa. Jayden even enjoyed playing with his feet in the water.

Make new friends, but keep the old...

We had some friends from Washington visit us, that we haven't seen in over 7 years. It was wonderful to catch up with old friends (yes, who happen to be younger than us). Last time we saw them, they had 4 kids and now they have 7.

What a joy it is to have friends that we can reconnect with so easily. Friends that it doesn't matter how much time has passed, we could still jump right back into our close friendship.

Now, we can't let 7 more years go by before seeing them again!!!

(And, yes, I was doing a bit of match making with a couple of my kids and a couple of their kids!!)

We had a blast showing them around our town, going on a hike, checking out the views, getting ice cream, seeing how many kids can fit on a play structure or two...and many great conversations.

Walking!

Jayden is in super accelerated learning mode: Check these out, just started yesterday!
And another one: Little interesting at the end.
